What is a Woods & Byrne Eye Keep?

The Woods & Byrne Eye Keep is a piece of functional jewellery worn around the neck like a necklace with a ring for your glasses to sit safely through so that they are close to hand at all times.  The Eye Keep is ideal for anyone who wears reading or occupational glasses and is perfect for sunglasses too. Our Eye Keeps come in everyday casual wear to high-end jewellery pieces so there is one to suit all occasions.

Is the Woods & Byrne Eye Keep Irish?

All our Eye Keeps are handmade in our studio in Dublin, Ireland.  Our Sterling Silver Eye Keeps feature the stamp of the Dublin Assay Office.  This is your guarantee of quality craftmanship and quality materials

How to care for your Woods & Byrne Casual Cord Eye Keep

How to keep your Casual Cord Eye Keep clean

Perfumes and cosmetics can affect your Eye Keep so we advise avoiding contact with these and wiping away any residue if any come into contact with your Eye Keep. 

To clean your Eye Keep:

Remove any dust or dirt from the cord with a lint free cloth

Remove stains with water, mild moisturising soap and a lint free damp cloth. Do not immerse your Eye Keep in water.

The Casual Cord Eye Keep rings are made of stainless steel or brass.  Both can be cleaned with a lint free cloth

How to keep your Casual Leather Eye Keep clean

Perfumes and cosmetics can affect your Eye Keep so we advise avoiding contact with these and wiping away any residue if any come into contact with your Eye Keep. 

If you have purchased the ‘Natural’ Leather Eye Keep we advise treating with a leather protectant prior to wearing.

To clean your Eye Keep:

Remove any dust or dirt from the leather with a lint free cloth

Remove stains with water, mild moisturising soap or leather cleaner and a damp lint free cloth.  Do not immerse your Eye Keep in water. Make sure you dab the stain, do not rub as this will damage the leather.

Allow the leather to dry before applying a leather protectant or conditioner.

How to keep your Braided Leather and Sterling Silver Eye Keep clean:

Perfumes and cosmetics can affect your Eye Keep so we advise avoiding contact with these and wiping away any residue if any come into contact with your Eye Keep. 

Keeping your Sterling Silver clean and shiny:

Your Sterling Silver Eye Keep has been plated with Sterling Silver so is anti-tarnish.  Therefore it should only require a buff with a soft polishing cloth to remove finger marks to keep it clean and shiny.

It is advisable to avoid contact with cosmetics, moisture, humidity and sulphur compounds as these can all cause Sterling Silver to tarnish.  Should this happen, use a silver polishing cloth to polish your Sterling Silver.

Keeping your Nappa Leather clean:

Remove any dust or dirt from the Nappa Leather with a lint-free cloth

Remove stains with water, mild moisturising soap or leather cleaner and a damp lint-free cloth.  Do not immerse your Eye Keep in water.  Make sure you dab the stain, do not rub as this will damage the leather.

Allow the leather to dry before applying a leather protectant or conditioner.

Remove any dust or dirt from the chain with a lint-free cloth.

The Sterling Silver Eye Keep is made with 925 sterling silver and is silver-plated as well to minimise tarnishing.  Therefore it should only require a buff with a soft polishing cloth to remove finger marks to keep it clean and shiny.

It is advisable to avoid contact with cosmetics, moisture, humidity and sulphur compounds as these can all cause Sterling Silver to tarnish.  Should this happen, use a silver polishing cloth to polish your Sterling Silver.
